2. The service

kalu provides a curated commercial-intelligence feed: news relevant to your organization, generated from established press sources and always linked and attributed to verifiable sources. News content belongs to its original publishers; kalu links and attributes.

kalu's content is generated with artificial intelligence. Summaries, article bodies, strategy notes and company research are drafted by language models from public press sources. Like any such system, it can produce errors, omissions or incorrect interpretations; that is why every news item is published with its sources linked, so you can verify it before acting on it.

The service is informational. It is not financial, legal or investment advice, and it should not be the sole basis for business decisions: the original source is always the authority on its own content.

3. Accounts and organization membership

Organizations on kalu are grouped by corporate email domain: users who sign up with an email on the same domain belong to the same organization.

Access requests from new users are subject to approval by an organization administrator. Administrators manage members, roles and the organization's radar; other members use the service according to the role they are assigned.

You are responsible for keeping your credentials confidential and for all activity under your account. Notify us immediately at our contact email of any unauthorized use.

4. Subscription and billing

• kalu is sold as a subscription per organization, processed through Stripe, in one of three packages: kalu Directivo (290 USD per month), kalu Comercial (890 USD per month) or kalu Corporativo (1,690 USD per month). All three include the complete product; what varies between them is the radar’s reach and the number of people it covers: kalu Directivo gives access to a single user, while kalu Comercial and kalu Corporativo place no limit on the number of users within the organization’s email domain. There is no free tier.
• The prices above are for the month-to-month plan, charged every month. Any of the three can be purchased on an annual contract, 15% cheaper (246 USD, 756 USD and 1,436 USD per month), charged in full when you subscribe — 2,952 USD, 9,072 USD and 17,232 USD respectively — with no trial days.
• The monthly kalu Directivo includes a 7-day trial per organization: cancel before it ends and no charge is generated. The trial is granted once per organization and does not apply to the other packages or to yearly purchases.
• Subscriptions purchased before these packages took effect keep their plan, their price and their reach for as long as they are not switched to another package.
• The subscription renews automatically at the end of each period (monthly or yearly, as purchased). You may cancel at any time; cancellation takes effect at the end of the current period and does not generate prorated refunds.
• Non-payment may lead to suspension of the organization's access until the situation is resolved.
• kalu may grant courtesy accounts at its sole discretion; such accounts may be modified or withdrawn at any time.

5. Acceptable use

When using kalu, you and your organization agree not to:

• Extract content by automated means (scraping) or harvest data from the platform through unauthorized methods.
• Resell, sublicense or redistribute the content or the service to third parties outside your organization.
• Circumvent access controls, share credentials outside your organization, or attempt to reach other organizations' data.
• Use the service for unlawful purposes or in breach of applicable law.

6. Intellectual property

• The kalu platform — software, design, trademarks and workings — is kalu's property and is protected by applicable intellectual-property laws.
• News content belongs to its original sources and publishers. kalu links to it and attributes it; nothing in these terms transfers any right over that content to you.
• Your organization's radar data — the information your organization provides about itself — belongs to your organization. You grant us a limited license to use it for two purposes: providing the service and, unless your organization opts out, improving kalu's news filter. That second use is a secondary purpose: section 3 bis of the Privacy Policy sets out what is used, what never is, and how to opt out at any time.

7. Availability and changes to the service

The service is provided "as is." We make reasonable efforts to keep it available and working well, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted availability or freedom from errors.

kalu is an evolving product: we may add, change or retire features. If a change materially reduces the contracted service, we will give you reasonable advance notice.

8. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, kalu's total liability to your organization, on any grounds, is capped at the fees paid in the twelve (12) months preceding the event giving rise to the claim.

kalu is not liable for business, financial or investment decisions made on the basis of news content: that content comes from third-party sources, and the original source is the authority. Nor are we liable for indirect damages, lost profits or loss of data attributable to causes beyond our reasonable control.

9. Termination

You may cancel the subscription at any time, effective at the end of the current period.

kalu may suspend or terminate access for an account or an organization upon material breach of these terms (including unacceptable use) or non-payment, with prior notice where reasonably possible.

Upon termination, data is retained and deleted according to the timeframes described in our Privacy Policy.

10. Privacy

The processing of personal data on kalu is governed by our Privacy Policy, available at kalu.lat/privacy, which forms an integral part of these terms.

11. Changes to these terms

We may modify these terms when the service or the law requires it. The current version will always be published on this page and, when a change is material, we will notify you by email or in the app with reasonable advance notice.

Continuing to use the service after the effective date of the changes constitutes your acceptance.

12. Governing law, jurisdiction and contact

These terms are governed by the laws of the United Mexican States. Any dispute is subject to the jurisdiction of the competent courts of Monterrey, Nuevo León, México, and the parties waive any other venue to which they might otherwise be entitled.
