License Agreement

Last updated: September 3, 2026

This document is an initial courtesy version and may be updated; the current version always lives on this page.

1. Who you are contracting with

This license is an agreement between you and kalu (kalu.lat), operated from Monterrey, Nuevo León, Mexico. It is not an agreement with Apple Inc. Apple is not responsible for the application or its content; kalu is solely responsible for the kalu app for iOS (the “Application”).

By downloading, installing or using the Application you accept this license. If you do not agree, do not install it and remove it from your device.

This license is read together with kalu's Terms of Service and Privacy Policy, which form part of the same agreement. The terms govern your subscription; this license governs the software.

2. What you may do

kalu grants you a personal, limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable and revocable license to use the Application on any Apple device that you own or control, in accordance with the Apple App Store Usage Rules, including those for Family Sharing where applicable.

  • The license is one of use, not ownership: the Application is licensed, not sold.
  • Access to the commercial-intelligence content depends on your organization holding a current subscription, as set out in the Terms of Service.
  • Accounts are named: they are granted to an identified person through their work email address and are not shared.

3. What you may not do

  • Decompile, reverse engineer, disassemble or attempt to derive the source code of the Application, except to the extent the law expressly allows it notwithstanding this prohibition.
  • Copy, modify, sublicense, sell, lease or distribute the Application, or assign this license to a third party.
  • Bulk-extract or scrape the feed's content, or resell, redistribute or publish that content as your own.
  • Use the Application to breach applicable law, third-party rights or the security of the platform.
  • Circumvent the technical limits, access controls or usage caps of the service.

4. Third-party content and sources

kalu's feed links to third-party press and official sources. The summaries are kalu's original writing; the linked articles are not, and are governed by the terms of the outlet that published them.

kalu does not own that source content, does not endorse it and does not warrant its accuracy, timeliness or availability. Verification is precisely why every story carries its source: use it.

The Application is not a substitute for legal, tax, financial or investment advice. The business decisions you make are your own.

5. Maintenance and support

Apple has no obligation whatsoever to furnish any maintenance and support services with respect to the Application.

Support is provided by kalu, in Spanish and English, at our contact email. We answer during Monterrey business hours (UTC−6), through the same channel.

6. Warranty

The Application is provided “as is”, to the maximum extent permitted by applicable law. kalu does not warrant that the service will be uninterrupted or error-free.

In the event of any failure of the Application to conform to any applicable warranty, you may notify Apple, and Apple will refund the purchase price of the Application, if any. To the maximum extent permitted by law, that will be Apple's entire warranty obligation. Any other claims, losses, liabilities, damages, costs or expenses attributable to a failure to conform to any warranty are kalu's sole responsibility.

Nothing in this license limits any rights granted to you on a non-waivable basis by the consumer protection law of your country.

7. Product claims

kalu, and not Apple, is responsible for addressing any claims by you or any third party relating to the Application or your possession and use of it, including but not limited to product liability claims, any claim that the Application fails to conform to any applicable legal or regulatory requirement, and claims arising under consumer protection or privacy legislation.

8. Intellectual property

The Application, its code, its design, its brand and kalu's original summaries are the property of kalu and are protected by intellectual property law.

In the event of any third-party claim that the Application infringes that third party's intellectual property rights, kalu, and not Apple, will be solely responsible for the investigation, defense, settlement and discharge of that claim.

10. Term and termination

This license runs for as long as you use the Application. It terminates automatically if you breach any of its conditions, and you may terminate it at any time by deleting the Application from your devices.

You can delete your account from within the Application itself (Settings → Account → Delete account) or from kalu.lat. Deletion is immediate and permanent; what exactly is erased is set out in the Privacy Policy.

On termination your right to use the Application ceases; the sections that by their nature should survive — intellectual property, warranty, liability and governing law — remain in force.

11. Third-party terms

You must comply with applicable third-party terms of agreement when using the Application, including those of your mobile carrier and of the App Store.

The providers of those third-party services are third-party beneficiaries of this section and may enforce their terms against you.

12. Apple as third-party beneficiary

You acknowledge and agree that Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of this license, and that upon your acceptance of it Apple will have the right — and will be deemed to have accepted the right — to enforce this license against you as a third-party beneficiary of it.

13. Governing law and contact

This license is governed by the laws of the United Mexican States. Any dispute is subject to the jurisdiction of the competent courts of Monterrey, Nuevo León, México.
